HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A 46-year-old Holland woman with a criminal past is scheduled to go before Holland District Court Judge Susan Jonas this morning. Jodie McLean and her 38-year-old boyfriend Steven Gordon had an argument in the upstairs apartment of an East 20th Street house on February 19th. According to an eyewitness who attempted to step in and break up the fight, McLean allegedly grabbed a steak knife and stabbed Gordon in the chest once; he died of the wound a few hours later. Five days before the incident, McLean was sentenced on misdemeanor false pretense charges; she had twice served three months in jail after pleading guilty to separate domestic violence charges, and had several other convictions on her record dating back to 1993. Jonas is expected to decide today if there is enough evidence to bind McLean over for trial on open murder and manslaughter charges stemming from this latest incident.
