Holland City Council Busy Tonight

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Prior to this evening’s scheduled work-study session, the Holland City Council goes behind closed doors with attorneys to go over what is only being described as “pending litigation.” It is believed that council members will be briefed on developments in the ongoing Jenifer French legal battle, as she looks to regain her Clerk’s position with back pay and benefits. She was sacked eight years ago over alleged tax and voter registration fraud, but the dismissal was overturned on appeal. Legal counsel for both the city and French were ordered into mediation on Monday by Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Ed Post in a 90-day effort to reach a settlement before he would have to step in.

When the work-study session begins, council members will be briefed on proposed ordinance amendments involving the keeping of poultry in residental areas and revising laws regarding graffiti, along with information on joining a proposed Coast-to-Coast Rail Corridor Coalition.
