PONTIAC (WKZO) -- The identity of a woman whose mummified remains were found in her parked car in the garage of her Pontiac home remains a mystery as do the circumstances surrounding her death. Police say the woman, who appears to be in her 40s, died at least five years ago and that they believe her fully-clothed body has been in the back seat of her Jeep all that time.
The woman's bills have been automatically deducted from her bank account over the years, her lawn was regularly mowed and there was no mail piled up in the mailbox. Once the money in her account ran out, the home went into foreclosure.
The bank sent a contractor to the house on Wednesday and that's when the body was discovered. The medical examiner says that while a cause of death is still pending it does not appear that there was any injury or trauma to the body.
