HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- A throwback to the thirties and forties will take place at Hope College this weekend. Dance marathons were all the craze many years ago and are gaining new popularity as a way to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. The 24 hour dance marathon is in its 15th year at Hope College. Chris Bohle, associate director of student life at Hope College says the event has raised more than $1 million since it began in 2000. More than 800 Hope students will participate in the Dance Marathon as dancers, morale boosters or in a variety of other roles. The kick off begins at 7 P.M. tomorrow at the college’s Dow Center. This year’s total will be announced at the conclusion celebration on Saturday, beginning at 3:30 P.M.
