LANSING (WKZO) -- Lake Erie is "severely threatened" and is struggling to survive. That's according to a 100-page report issued Thursday by the International Joint Commission, who says the quality of water has declined over the past ten years, primarily because of phosphorus from agricultural fertilizers getting into the lake. The report recommends the lake be declared "impaired," which will trigger action under the U.S. Clean Water Act.
