Tigers Broom Rangers; Pistons & Bulls Look West for NBA Draft Picks

Justin Ruggiano’s two-run double in the seventh inning broke a 3-3 tie as the Cubs beat visiting Washington last night, 5-3. The series at Wrigley Field in Chicago continues this afternoon.

At the NBA Draft in Brooklyn last night, the Pistons took Colorado guard Spencer Dinwiddie in the second round, while the Bulls selected Creighton forward Doug McDermott in the first round and New Mexico forward Cameron Bairstow in the second. Three Michigan Wolverines and two Michigan State Spartans were also taken. From U-M: guard Nik Stauskas by Sacramento in the first round; forward Mitch McGary by Oklahoma City in the first round; and forward Glenn Robinson the Third by Minnesota in the second round. From MSU: Forward Adreian Payne by Atlanta in the first round; and guard Gary Harris ended up at Denver after a first round trade with Chicago.
