COVERT, MI (WHTC) - Just before a public meeting was held by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in South Haven last night, officials at the Palisades plant returned the facility near Covert to full operations. It had been off line since late last Friday night due to repairs on a primary coolant pump seal. An NRC administrator said at the meeting that the safety culture at the aging plant is improving, but that there are still issues at Palisades that needs addressing.
