DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors is stopping the sale of all new and used 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze cars because they may have defective airbags.

GM spokesman Jim Cain says the automaker is working with its supplier to determine how many of the vehicles have the airbag problem and they expect to resume sales by the end of the week. The Detroit-based automaker has sold 119-thousand Cruze cars so far this year and 248-thousand in 2013.

Cain says it's not known if there are any reports of crashes or injuries related to the defective airbags.
