UNDATED (WHTC) -- Miguel Cabrera doubled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning to lift the Tigers over the Indians 5-4 at Progressive Field.  Victor Martinez went deep and drove in two runs for Detroit, which has won three in-a-row.  Ian Kinsler and Rajai Davis also hit solo shots in the win.  Justin Verlander struck out eight in seven innings for the no-decision, and Joe Nathan picked up the win with Phil Coke getting the save.  The Tigers go for the sweep in Cleveland this afternoon.  Broadcast on 1450 WHTC begins at 12:40 P.M.

The Cubs fell to the Pirates at Wrigley Field on Saturday, 5-3.  Travis Wood gave up three runs in four-and-two-thirds frames for the loss.  The Cubs face Pittsburgh again this afternoon.

The White Sox were topped by Minnesota on Saturday, 4-3.  Starter Andre Rienzo was chased out of the game by Twins hitting in the fifth inning and he was also charged with his fifth loss of the year.  The White Sox will attempt to avoid being swept by the Twins this afternoon.

The Whitecaps played a split doubleheader on Saturday, losing the first game to Fort Wayne, 5-4.  The second game lasted 11 innings and was played through a steady rain, but the Whitecaps came away with a 6-5 walk-off win.  The two teams meet again this afternoon at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Today’s World Cup slate features the second match in Group G for the United States, which can clinch a spot in the knockout round with a victory over Portugal. The Americans beat Ghana in their opener last Monday, while Portugal suffered a 4-0 loss to Germany. The day's other two matchups come from Group H, as Belgium plays Russia and Algeria takes on Korea.
