PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) - Coast Guard staffers rescued four persons from a capsized sailboat in the waters of Lake Michigan yesterday afternoon.
The distress call came around 1 PM, sending a 25-foot response boat to the scene about a half-mile off of Tunnel Park on Holland's North Side. Three of the four persons were on top of the upside-down vessel, while the fourth was in the water nearby. All of them were safely brought to the Coast Guard craft with no injuries reported.
Officials didn't disclose any names of the persons involved, nor did they say anything about the circumstances that led to the sailboat's capsizing. Three of the four rescued were wearing life jackets at the time of the incident, which remains under investigation.
