UNDATED (WHTC) - Two-run homers by Alex Gordon and Mike Moustakis in a seven-run second inning helped visiting Kansas City defeat the Tigers last night, 11-4. The series at Comerica Park in Detroit continues this afternoon. Coverage on 1450 WHTC is at 12:40 PM.

Garrett Jones’ three-run homer in the seventh inning was the decisive blow as Miami held off the visiting Cubs last night, 6-5. The series at Marlins Park concludes this afternoon.

Gordon Beckham and Dayan Viciedo each hit two-run homers as the White Sox rallied to beat visiting San Francisco last night, 8-2. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago concludes this afternoon.

Before a crowd of over seven thousand, the West defeated the East in the Midwest League All-Star Game at Fifth Third Ballpark last night, 7-0. Boog Powell of Beloit, no relation to the legendary Baltimore Orioles slugger with the same name, was named MVP after driving in two runs and scoring three times, while 11 West pitchers allowed just two East hits.
