HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- On Sunday, the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission is inviting anyone to celebrate the opening of two universally accessible kayak and canoe launches within the parks. The celebration will include a picnic from 2 p.m. until 6 at Connor Bayou in Grand Haven with free hot dogs, chips and refreshments. There will also be fishing activities for kids, frog and birding stations, nature walks and music by Dem Two Guys. A guided two hour kayak trip on Crockery Creek will also be part of the activities offered through Lakeshore Kayak rental. Kayakers will meet at Connor Bayou at 1 p.m. and be shuttled to the launch and will return by water. The trip is offered for a discounted price of twenty five dollars that includes the kayak ride and the shuttle service. Registration is required just for the kayaking trip at 616-566-1325. The two new launches have been installed at Grand River Park and Connor Bayou.
