UNDATED (WHTC) - Kyle Gibson tossed seven innings of five-hit, three-strikeout baseball as visiting Minnesota blanked the Tigers last night, 2-0. The series at Comerica Park in Detroit continues this afternoon. Coverage on 1450 WHTC is at 3:40 PM.

Starlin Castro's two-run homer in the fourth inning enabled the Cubs to defeat the Phillies in Philadelphia last night, 2-1. The series at Citizens Bank Park continues today.

Lorenzo Cain's two-run double capped a five-run first inning for Kansas City, and the visiting Royals went on to beat the White Sox last night, 7-2. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this afternoon.

Willy Adames' RBI double in the 11th inning broke a 2-2 tie, and the Whitecaps went on to win at South Bend last night, 4-2. West Michigan clinches its first playoff berth in four seasons, and can capture the first half Eastern Division title with one more victory over the Silver Hawks at Four Winds Field, either this evening or tomorrow afternoon.
