SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) -- In February of this year, Saugatuck was named by Coastal Living magazine as one of ten finalists of “America’s Happiest Seaside Towns” for 2014. Readers were asked to cast their vote and Saugatuck placed number three on the list. The town has lured artists for generations. The Ox-Bow School of Art, for instance, is more than a century old. Great golf and fishing, along with a local brewery and two nearby wineries, add to the natural ambience of the area. The number one destination, as voted by readers of Coastal Living magazine, is Chincoteague Island in Virginia.
