UNDATED (WHTC) - A pair of injury crashes was dealt with by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies last evening.
The first wasn’t as bad as first feared, as Sergeant Jason Kik was among those sent to Kenowa Avenue at Tyler Street in Jenison. A caller told dispatchers that there was a three-vehicle pileup there, with one unconscious man down. Grandville police and deputies arrived to find just a two-vehicle fender-bender, with one driver suffering minor injuries. Family members took 23-year-old Travis Rea of Jenison to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment; the other driver, 34-year-old Michael Dahlke, also of Jenison, was uninjured.
The other accident was as bad as first feared, as Sergeant Matt Wildfong went to Robinson Township just south of the Grand River. A motorcyclist attempting to negotiate the curves along 128th Avenue between Green Street and North Cedar Drive lost control and was thrown when his machine struck a guardrail. Everett Hawkins, a 54-year-old Grand Haven area man, was flown to Spectrum-Butterworth for treatment of serious injuries.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
