HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- A subject that many thought closed was reopened at Wednesday night’s Holland City Council. Ben Phillips, one of the owners of the Bullet Hole Gun Shop, asked Council to reconsider their vote to not allow for a special land use to build an indoor shooting range. Phillips went on to say that, quote, "It is my belief that all members of Council did not have all the facts to make the correct vote. You used emotions over facts. On behalf of my partners, I ask for Council to revote or table the vote on the facts you now have received from Bullet Hole and Gen-One Architecture with City Planning."
The other owners of the Bullet Hole, Dennis Johnson and Dave Burns, also pled the cause. City Attorney Andrew Mulder explained that the Bullet Hole owners would have to start from the beginning, with the Planning Commission. There’s no word on whether the owners will renew the process but City Council went into closed session to discuss a legal opinion.
