COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Toxicology test results showed that a 38-year-old Grand Rapids man killed in a head-on crash along I-96 near Coopersville was legally drunk and had marijuana in his system. Michael Johnson died instantly when his car slammed at full speed into another car as he was driving the wrong way on June 28. His blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit. The other driver, 22-year-old Mitchell Hamm of Grand Haven, is making a long, slow recovery from critical injuries suffered in the crash.
