Raise Michigan might not fight minimum wage ballot issue ruling

LANSING (WKZO) -- There might not be a legal challenge to the vote by the State Board of Canvassers to deny Raise Michigan a spot on the November ballot with a proposal to increase the minimum wage. Lansing's MIRSNews.com reports backers of the plan to put an eventual $10.10 an hour minimum wage in front of voters will decide later this week if they think they can win an appeal in court.

Raise Michigan would be required to first win in the Court of Appeals on their argument that they had enough valid signatures before fighting another court battle. Opponents point out that because the wage is going up to $9.25 an hour, the law Raise Michigan was trying to amend no longer exists.
