UNDATED (WHTC) - As one annual event along the Lakeshore winds down today, another began yesterday.
The 56th Ottawa County Fair ends its six-day run at the Fairgrounds off of Ottawa Beach Road in Park Township today. Week-long attractions such as the Elliott’s Amusements Midway, the Whispering Pines Mobile Zoo and the Flower Show are augmented by the final 4-H competition, the morning Donkey Show. Unique Motor Sports returns to the Grandstand at 6 PM tonight with slick truck drags. Fair officials have been pleased with pleasant weather and good crowds during the first six days of the event.
Meanwhile, The 90th Coast Guard Festival kicked off its 10-day run in Grand Haven last night with the Festival Idol competition at Waterfront Stadium. This morning features a family fun run and a kids parade, with entertainment in Waterfront Stadium throughout the afternoon before climaxing with Allen Scott’s Tim McGraw Tribute Show this evening. The festivities in Coast Guard City USA go through August 3rd.
