ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - Ground was broken Wednesday morning on a 2.4-mile bike path that, when completed in November, connects the Kenowa Trail that goes through Zeeland and Jamestown Towsnships with the Adams Street Trail that heads into Holland. The 1.8 million-dollar project will meander through forests, grassland and wetlands of the Upper Macatawa Natural Area, and includes three large ravine bridges as well as a span over the Macatawa River. More than half of the funding for the project came through a federal transportation grant funneled through M-DOT.
