UNDATED (WHTC) -- The Americans with Disabilities Act celebrates the 24th anniversary of enactment this week. The bill was signed into law on July 26th, 1990. Peg Fakler, Director of Family Services at the ARC, says that while there have been great changes in the lives of those with disabilities due to the ADA, more needs to be done.
Fakler said that school activities for the disabled are covered by educational laws but the ADA is aimed toward making access for schools and other buildings easier for the disabled to do.
