UNDATED (WHTC) - For the second straight day, the Lakeshore is under an Air Quality Advisory for elevated levels of ozone, with pollutants expected to be unhealthy for those in the “sensitive groups” range, according to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, who issued the alert. Many activities that involve gasoline-fueled engines should be curtailed during the peak daytime hours of 8 AM to 6 PM, and outdoor physical activity should be monitored. Holland’s MAX Transit will offer free rides on its fixed bus routes throughout the day in an effort to cut down on the number of motorists on area roads. There hadn’t been such an advisory for this region this year until yesterday, with the possibility of a third straight day likely tomorrow.
