DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Tigers open the second half of the season with a loss.
Jason Kipnis hit two homers and knocked in four runs to power the Indians to a 9-3 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park.
Asdrubal Cabrera also went deep for Cleveland, which has won four of five.
Nick Swisher drove in three runs for the Tribe. Trevor Bauer allowed three runs in six innings for the win. Torii Hunter scored and drove in a run for Detroit, which has lost two straight.
Anibal Sanchez gave up four runs in six-plus frames for the loss.
The Tigers and the Indians will play a split-double headersaturday, to make up a game missed earlier in the season. Games will start at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Comerica Park.
