UNDATED (WHTC) -- Enjoyable beach going is not in the cards for the next few days. The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement going into effect at midnight and continuing until Tuesday evening at 8 P.M. Mark Ekelsky, of the NWS that high wave action is expected.
Ekelsky says the high waves are caused by a cold air mass moving across the warmer waters of Lake Michigan. The advisory covers most of West Michigan from Van Buren County north to Mason County.
