HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The city of Holland entered a contest last April and the prize could bring $5 million to the city for use on energy efficient programs. More than 50 cities are in the national competition for the prize. A breakfast meeting takes place at 7:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 17th at City Flats Hotel, in an effort to bring information and increase community knowledge prior to the competition. City Manager Ryan Cotton is asking that people bring their ideas to share. In order to win, the city needs to develop the most effective, replicable strategy to residential energy efficiency and find ways to change people’s ideas about going “Green” and sustainability.
