ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) - Grand Valley State’s Board of Trustees yesterday approved a budget for the upcoming academic year yesterday, highlighted by a 2.9 percent increase in tuition, the smallest in a decade. The average Laker student will spend nearly 300 more dollars to attend classes, a hike that is near the middle of all schools of higher education in Michigan. Trustees also endorsed a three percent pay raise for faculty and staff members; GVSU was the last state university to set its 2015 budget.
