Every summer, the city of Zeeland, Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital and Zeeland Festivals, host Zeelmania, a free series of family- friendly activities. Kerri VanDorp from the City of Zeeland told WHTC more about what will be different this year.
“We’ve been able to get more performers so some things new this year are we have a yoyo performer, a stilt walker, an aerial performer a couple singing shows and a puppet show,” VanDorp said.
Vandorp said that the new additions are thanks to their official sponsor, SNAP fitness. Zeelmania will be held every Monday in July and August, beginning on July 7th at 6 p.m. in downtown Zeeland on Main Street between Church and Elm Streets. To kick off the series there will be a balloon drop at 6:15 p.m. sharp. A fire truck will lift hundred of balloons into the air and drop them, inside the balloons, children will find prizes such as coupons to local businesses, money and more. The activities offered will change weekly, but will keep a theme of staying healthy.
