UNDATED (WHTC) -- The Hope College Winter Happening scheduled for Saturday did not happen due to weather. The Flying Dutchmen basketball game against Kalamazoo at DeVos Fieldhouse is rescheduled for Monday with tipoff at 7:30 P.M. The lady Flying Dutch game at Alma is also rescheduled for Monday and the game begins at 6 P.M. In other local college action: the GVSU Lakers fell at Northwood, 71-67. Big Ten Basketball: The number 21-ranked Michigan Wolverines keep rolling, getting their third win this week over Top 10 opponents topping the number 3-ranked Michigan State Spartans, 80-75. ***** The Detroit Red Wings try to continue their resurgence at home after winning three of four on the home stand. Friday's 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens gave Detroit consecutive wins at home for the first time since October. This afternoon, they host the Florida Panthers in a game that will be heard on 1450 WHTC and whtc.com, with coverage beginning at 4:40 P.M. The Chicago Blackhawks host Winnipeg at the United Center tonight. The Grand Rapids Griffins reclaimed the Western Conference from the Texas Stars with a 4-1 win Saturday at the Cedar Park Center. They will round out their three games-in-three-days this afternoon at the AT&T Center against the San Antonio Rampage. ***** The NFL Pro Bowl takes place in Hawaii this evening but it won’t resemble previous Pro Bowls. In an effort to give fans matchups they’ve never seen before, with no more AFC against NFC, essentially becoming Fantasy Football come to life. Players were chosen for the Pro Bowl and then put into a Fantasy Football draft, with Team Jerry Rice winning the coin toss and getting the first pick of All Stars, choosing Drew Brees as his starting quarterback. Team Deion Sanders will be led by Carolina Panther’s Quarterback, Cam Newton. Game coverage of the Pro Bowl from Aloha Stadium in Hawaii begins at approximately 8 P.M. on 1450 WHTC and WHTC.com after the Red Wings game. ***** NBA Action: The Detroit Pistons were topped by New Orleans on Saturday night, 103-101. The Pistons are in Dallas tonight to take on the Pistons. D.J. Augustin scored 28 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to an 89-87 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday. The Bulls host the Timberwolves at the United center on Monday night.
