Wintry Conditions Striking Lakeshore Activities

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Another winter storm is taking its toll on scheduled Friday activities in the Holland/Zeeland area.

The beginning of what could be another foot of snow by the end of the weekend, coupled with strong winds gusting over 40 miles per hour that has caused blowing and drifting, as well as wind chills well below zero, has led officials at Hope College to cancel afternoon classes and all evening activities, including a scheduled annual Concerto and Aria Concert at Dimnent Chapel. A decision on Saturday's events, which include the Winter Happening and the men's basketball game on campus and the women's basketball game at Alma, will be made by 6 AM Saturday.

In addition: Saugatuck and Gobles school staffers called off their scheduled high school basketball doubleheader at the home of the Tigers for Friday night; Zeeland has done the same with its games involving East at Grand Rapids Union and West at home versus Hamilton, and Fennville won’t be hosting Bangor.
