DETROIT (WKZO) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is settling into his new home at a medium-security prison near Oklahoma City. That’s after officials denied his request to serve out his sentence in Texas near his family.
Kilpatrick is at the El Reno Federal Prison. He is slated to stay there until his release date in August of 2037. Kilpatrick was convicted on 24 federal felony counts last year, including mail fraud, wiretapping and racketeering.
