UNDATED (WHTC) - Another nearly full slate of games involving high school basketball teams along the Lakeshore is scheduled for tonight, with only Calvary’s girls taking the evening off, and all other matchups are boys/girls doubleheaders. We’ll carry the Holland versus Holland Christian boys’ game from the Holland Civic Center on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live, beginning at 7:10 PM. Other twin bills include West Ottawa at East Kentwood and Heritage Christian at Black River; Calvary’s boys entertain West Michigan Lutheran at Holland Christian. Saugatuck officials on Friday morning cancelled all evening activities, including the Indians' scheduled doubleheader at Gobles; Zeeland has done the same with its games involving East at Grand Rapids Union and West at home versus Hamilton, and Fennville won’t be hosting Bangor.
Grand Valley State swept a basketball doubleheader from visiting Lake Superior State last night. Kayla Dawson scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the women took the opener, 74-67. The men captured the nightcap, 75-70, behind a 28-point performance from Ryan Sabin. The Lakers are in Midland to face Northwood in another twin bill late tomorrow afternoon.
In state major college basketball last night, Western Michigan won at Kent State, 75-59. This evening, Detroit visits Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
