EASTMANVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Two drivers in a three-vehicle pileup on a busy north-south artery in Eastmanville were hospitalized this morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kevin Allman, 54-year-old Robert Hill Junior of Jenison apparently tried to pass a box truck ahead of him, driven by 39-year-old Scott Watson of Coopersville, as they were heading northbound on 68th Avenue near Leonard Street. Heading in the opposite direction was 25-year-old Russell Zwak of Coopersville. Hill clipped the box truck and struck Zwak head on. Hill and Zwak had to be extricated by rescuers and were taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries; Watson was unhurt.
Allman added that all three men were buckled up at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation.
