ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - An outdoor skating rink has opened in downtown Zeeland. Mayor Kevin Klynstra was among a number of city staffers who helped clear out a space in the Heritage Square parking lot off of Main and Elm streets, with the first blades hitting the ice there this past Saturday. Zeeland officials say that there is no fee for open skating, but participants must being their own blades. The lighted facility will be open until 9 PM and remain in operation as weather permits; condition updates will be posted on the Feel the Zeel Facebook page.
