HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Nobody is talking, which makes a Saturday morning shooting outside of a pool room in the shadow of Holland City Hall even more suspicious.
Public Safety officers were called to the Golden 8 Ball establishment off of 11th Street and River Avenue just before 2 AM on a report of several shots being fired. Several casings were found in a nearby church parking lot, but several persons in the area refused to say anything about the matter to investigators. A short time later, Holland Hospital staffers called 911 to say that a 30-year-old Grand Rapids man admitted himself with a non-life threatening wound to the chest. He would only say that he was struck by a stray bullet from an unrelated altercation at the pool hall.
Detectives haven’t been able to determine a motive for the incident, or whether it was gang-related, and no suspects are in custody. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT; http://mosotips.com).
