WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) -- A vehicle accident Thursday morning involving an Allendale Public Schools bus hospitalized three people, with one suffering serious injuries. Sergeant Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department says a pickup truck driven by 19-year-old Bryan Graftema was northbound on 120th Avenue near Croswell Street when he tried to pass the school bus. He lost control while passing and clipped the front end of the school bus, driving off the roadway to the right. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting 16-year-old Tianna Bigelow from the backseat. She was seriously injured. The front seat passenger in the truck, 18-year-old Tyler Bradhamand the driver, received minor injuries. All three persons in the pickup were sent to Holland Hospital. The driver of the school bus, 61-year-old Willis Meyer and the 26 students on board did not receive any injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
