GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A 56-year-old former City of Wyoming Police Officer will spend up to two years in a state prison. Mark Armstrong was sentenced yesterday after a jury convicted him of felonious assault and felony firearms charges stemming from a July 25th incident outside of a downtown Holland restaurant. Public Safety officers approached him after he allegedly made phone threats to an ex-girlfriend and others, but as Armstrong fled on foot, he drew a .380 handgun and pointed it at the pursuing officers without firing a shot. He was cornered and eventually surrendered after a 20-minute standoff. There were no injuries in the incident.
