Accident Sends Man to Hospital with Serious Injuries

UNDATED (WHTC) -- An accident today sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.  The accident happened just before 9 A.M. this morning.  Sergeant Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said a stake truck driven by 34-year-old Chad Searcy ran into the back of an Ottawa County Road Commission snowplow driven by 40-year-old Robert Furman.

Searcy was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by Coopersville Fire Rescue.  He was transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries.  He was also charged with a civil infraction, driving too fast for road conditions, which carries a $100 fine.
