UNDATED (WHTC) -- An Ottawa County public officials meeting on Thursday brought the Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management together with representatives from the National Weather Service, the Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Coast Guard to discuss the possibility of flooding this spring. With more than 100 inches of snow this season and the fact that the bitter cold has frozen many rivers completely, there is a real danger of widespread flooding, if and when Spring arrives. Residents are being asked to prepare by clearing roof drains, shoveling snow away from the foundation of their home and clearing catch basins. Also, have an emergency plan and an emergency kit at the ready.
