HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - There’s less than a month left in winter on the calendar, but Old Man Winter apparently pays no attention to calendars.
One of the coldest and snowiest seasons in memory is slated to continue this week, as forecasters are predicting another Polar Vortex to descend on Michigan by Wednesday. Temperatures that cracked the 40 degree mark last week will be ancient history by the end of this week, as highs may not reach double figures above zero, and will struggle to get past the 20-degree mark through the weekend. It may not be until next week at the earliest before seasonal temperatures return. One positive of this latest wintry attack is that any snowfall, which has eclipsed the 100-inch mark for the entire season, should be light and not accumulate. Officials on all governmental levels have expressed concern about the number of pot holes already on roads and streets. Paying to fill those pot holes, they say, may divert funds needed for warm-weather road construction projects.
