GVSU Splits with SVSU; Final OK Conference Prep Twin Bills of Season This Evening

UNDATED (WHTC) - High school basketball action along the Lakeshore this evening features girls/boys doubleheaders among the OK Conference schools. We’ll carry the Hamilton at Holland boys’ game on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live, beginning at 7:10 PM. Other twin-bills include Unity Christian versus Holland Christian at the Holland Civic Center, Grand Haven at West Ottawa, Zeeland East at Reeths-Puffer and Zeeland West at Byron Center. Girls’ contests include Saugatuck at Lawrence, Freedom Christian versus Calvary at Harbor Lights Middle School, and Zion Christian at Black River.

Grand Valley State split a basketball doubleheader with Saginaw Valley State at the Fieldhouse Arena last night. Kristen Greene scored 17 points as the visiting Cardinals took the women’s opener, 65-47. Ricardo Carbajal’s 18 points helped the host Lakers capture the men’s nightcap, 77-69. GVSU’s teams are in Detroit to face Wayne State tomorrow afternoon.

In state major college basketball last night, Michigan State won at Purdue, 94-79, while Eastern Michigan fell in double overtime at Northern Illinois, 61-59. This evening, Detroit plays Wright State in Dayton and Oakland travels to Illinois-Chicago.

Hope College’s Flying Dutchmen visit Adrian tomorrow, with broadcast time on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live at 7:10 PM.

NBA play tonight finds the Detroit Pistons home to Atlanta at the Palace and the Chicago Bulls welcoming Denver to the United Center.
