DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors will reportedly try to restore eight Corvettes that fell into a giant sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The automaker announced Thursday that they will manage restoration at GM's design facilities in the Warren Tech Center. The sinkhole that opened under the museum is estimated at 40-feet across and up to 30-feet deep.

Among those cars swallowed were a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and 2009 ZR-1 "Blue Devil." The one-millionth Corvette ever built was also damaged after plunging into the hole.
