DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors will add nearly 400 jobs this year at plants that were temporarily idled during the automaker’s restructuring.
The plants are the Orion Assembly Plant, Pontiac Metal Center and Tennessee’s Spring Hill Assembly Plant. During the bankruptcy and reorganization GM had considered closing all three of these facilities.
The Orion plant makes the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano. The Spring Hill Plant has been converted from an old Saturn facility and now produces the Chevrolet Equinox crossover.
