UNDATED (WHTC) -- The defending attorney in a sexual misconduct case in Kent County has filed multiple motions, including moving the trial to Newaygo County and excluding the suspect’s wife from the investigation. Former Kent County Commissioner Gary Rolls was arrested in November and charged with four counts of first-degree criminal-sexual conduct. Rolls resigned his position in December. His attorney says that Rolls would not receive a fair trial in Kent County because of all the publicity. The motions should go before Circuit Court Judge Dennis Leiber on March 28th. The criminal trial is slated to begin on May 12th.
