Hope's Men & Women Romp to Victories; a Battle of Lakers in the Soo Tonight

UNDATED (WHTC) - Hope College scored a pair of lopsided basketball victories last night. In Olivet, Sam Otto scored 16 points as the Flying Dutchmen downed the Comets, 108-57. At DeVos Fieldhouse, Megan Kelley tossed in 17 points as the Flying Dutch routed visiting St. Mary’s, 89-59. Both of Hope’s teams are home on Saturday in games that will air on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live, starting at 2:40 PM with the Flying Dutch taking on Trine, followed at 7:10 PM with the Flying Dutchmen entertaining Alma.

Grand Valley State’s Lakers are in Sault Ste. Marie this evening to face the Lake Superior State Lakers in a women’s/men’s basketball doubleheader.

In state major college basketball last night: Western Michigan 57, Akron 54; Northern Illinois 88, Central Michigan 63; and Eastern Michigan 73, Ball State 62. Michigan State hosts Northwestern this evening.

Tristan Thompson scored 25 points with 15 rebounds as visiting Cleveland handled the Pistons last night, 93-89. Detroit is off until hosting Charlotte at the Palace next Tuesday evening.
