DETROIT (WKZO) -- A new report shows the City of Detroit has spent nearly 14-million dollars in legal fees and expenses in the first three months of the Chapter 9 bankruptcy filing.

Officials are expecting those costs to jump when invoices for work in October, November and December are received.  Attorney Robert Fishman is the court-appointed fee examiner for Detroit's bankruptcy and he was scheduled to file Tuesday's report January 15th, but asked for more time due to the holidays.

The city's lead law firm Jones Day has billed the city over six-million dollars so far.
