UNDATED (WHTC) -- A 20-year-old Fennville woman will not do jail time for charges in the death of a 74-year-old Holland man. On July 13th of last year, Reyna Isabel Mendoza ran a red light as she was eastbound on Business 196 in Zeeland. Dale Woodwyk was traveling northbound on State Street with his 16-year-old grandson when his vehicle was hit by the SUV Mendoza was driving. Woodwyk was pinned in the vehicle and later died at a Grand Rapids hospital. His family had asked Judge Susan Jonas to give the maximum sentence for the moving vehicle violation causing death charge. Mendoza was sentenced to 24 months of probation, 200 hours of probation and almost $1500 in fees, costs and fines.
