HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - The price tag for cleaning up Lake Macatawa is in, and it’s not going to come cheap. The Macatawa Area Coordinating Council is asking member communities to ante up a total of three million dollars over the next five years to reduce the amount of sediment, nutrient and bacterial pollution in the lake, much of which has come from upstream. An ongoing private fundraising effort for Project Clarity has garnered three million dollars. MACC officials plan to revisit the issue with community leaders later this spring.
