DETROIT (WKZO) -- As Washington continues to drag its feet on committing 200-million dollars for a customs plaza with the New International Trade Crossing, Canada is moving forward.  The "Detroit Free Press" reports officials in Ottawa noted last week they will start buying land in Detroit’s Delray district for the new bridge connecting Detroit and Ontario.

Governor Rick Snyder reached an agreement with Canadian officials to build a second span, at no cost to the state of Michigan.  The federal government, however, will need to pay for the customs plaza and the bridge is projected to open in 2020.
