UNDATED (WHTC) - Three separate, high-profile criminal cases this summer are on Lakeshore court dockets for this Wednesday.
Two men arrested during the past week in the Holland are scheduled for separate court appearances. Juan Casillas, apprehended after allegedly brandishing a handgun and firing it in a confrontation with an ex-girlfriend at a motel parking lot on Holland’s North Side last weekend, has a morning hearing on an unrelated probation violation and an afternoon pre-preliminary session slated. Moises Castillo, who stabbed a man during a fight at a Holland street corner last week, also has a pre-preliminary hearing scheduled. Both men remain in the Ottawa County Jail on several thousand dollars bond each.
Meanwhile, Allegan District Judge Joseph Skocelas is scheduled today to examine mental competency and responsibility evaluation reports on Joshua Lee Keyzer, a 15-year-old Dorr boy accused as an adult of allegedly stabbing his 21-year-old cousin Kassandra Keyzer to death and wounding his 67-year-old grandmother Sharon Keyzer at the older woman’s home in Bradley on June 25th. He has been held in the Allegan County Juvenile Detention facility since his arrest at the scene on the day of the incident. Joshua Keyzer could face life in prison without parole if convicted of the charges.
