LANSING (WKZO) -- Democratic gubernatorial nominee Mark Schauer is turning to former state lawmaker Dianne Byrum to try to get debates scheduled with Governor Snyder. Byrum was hired Monday by Schauer as his "debate negotiator," as both sides have said they are willing to spar at least once before the November election. Governor Snyder's camp says they have offered two dates and times to debate before the Detroit Economic Club, while Schauer is seeking a debate to be televised statewide.
